In lieu of a longer update, Adam and I left Sydney and landed in Auckland, New Zealand a couple hours ago. No matter all the traveling we've done, what amazes me is just how similar all cities look, even on opposite sides of the planet.
And skyscrapers will always be a comforting sight for me. Even growing up as a child in New Orleans, when we still lived in the suburby outskirts of the city, the times we drove in towards the CBD and I saw all the tall buildings with high windows framing the Superdome, something about the cityscape always excited me.
We've got a nice hotel pretty central, up within walking distance of the iconic Sky Tower. Our hotel, bizarrely, even has its own stove and washing/drying machines; the latter I'm quite excited about, as dealing with laundry in foreign cities is always a challenge.
It's raining at the moment, just as it was when we left Sydney. It's relatively late here right now (midnight local time), but Adam and I are going to do a bit of sight-seeing tomorrow, where I'll try to grab some photos.
